General information

All providers of postal services are required to register with PostCom.  Depending on their annual turnover, they have a simple or ordinary duty to do so.

Simple duty to register

Postal services companies which have an annual revenue of less than CHF 500,000 are subject to the simple duty to register. This means that they must provide PostCom with the following information within two months of beginning their activity:

  • Name and address of the company
  • Description of the service provided
  • Details of the annual revenue from postal services.

Ordinary duty to register

Postal services companies which have an annual revenue of more than CHF 500,000 must register with PostCom and provide the following information within two months:

  • Name and address of the company
  • Description of the service provided
  • Description of the organisation
  • Details of the annual revenue from postal services
  • Evidence of the address or headquarters of the company
  • Evidence that industry-standard working conditions are respected
  • Evidence of negotiations with trade unions regarding a collective employment agreement.
