On 15 October 2013 PostCom set up an independent conciliation agency, which is headed by lawyer Dr. Marianne Sonder.

The conciliation agency can be contacted in the case of disagreement between customers and providers of postal services, for example if compensation is demanded because of late delivery. The parties are not bound by the decision of the conciliation agency and can bring the case before a civil court dealing with cases between postal service providers and private persons.
